Working across Engineering, Fleet, Procurement, Operations, Inflight and external partners, you’ll lead products from concept through to design, aircraft integration, launch and continuous improvement.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Identify and prioritise new product opportunities using customer insight, market trends, operational feedback and commercial opportunity.
  • Lead the end-to-end development of physical inflight products, from concept and design through to business case, implementation and launch.
  • Partner with Fleet and Engineering to develop products that are technically feasible, operationally practical and suitable for current and future aircraft.
  • Lead product strategy across new aircraft, cabin refurbishment and retrofit programs, ensuring product priorities are delivered across the fleet.
  • Develop compelling business cases and investment recommendations that balance customer value, commercial return and operational feasibility.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, technology providers and commercial partners to bring products and experiences to life.
  • Lead supplier strategy and commercial negotiations in partnership with Procurement, ensuring strong product outcomes and value for Virgin Australia.
  • Manage the product portfolio through its full lifecycle, using performance, customer feedback and operational insight to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders, aligning customer, commercial, operational, safety and technical priorities while developing a high-performing team.

You’ll be great in this role if you have

  • Significant product development experience within aviation, airlines, travel, transport or another complex physical product environment.
  • A strong track record of taking physical products from concept through to design, investment, implementation and launch.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering product strategy across a complex portfolio.
  • Strong knowledge of the airline passenger journey, cabin environment or inflight experience.
  • Experience working with Engineering, Fleet, Operations, Procurement and frontline teams to deliver physical products in a complex operational environment.
  • Strong experience managing strategic suppliers, manufacturers, partners and commercial negotiations.
  • Commercial acumen and experience developing business cases, managing investment and making portfolio prioritisation decisions.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to bring together diverse technical, commercial and operational stakeholders.
  • Experience leading and developing teams and delivering outcomes through cross-functional environments.
